Straw Free Jackson Hole works to reduce and ultimately eliminate the use of plastic straws as they are a significant source of plastic waste in landfills and waterways. Straw Free JH is a local volunteer group, formed in the fall of 2016 dedicated to eliminating single-use plastic straws in Teton County. They have been partnering with Teton County Integrated Solid Waste & Recycling to achieve Zero Waste since 2018.
To achieve their mission, Straw Free Jackson Hole is taking an educational approach that targets both restaurants, which are the primary source of straws, and straw users/the general public.
